Jon Krakauer Biogrophy

      Jon Krakauer is a outdoors man with a love of nature who rights  about adventure and the wilderness. Krakauer was born in Massachusetts in 1954 but moved to Oregon. He was influenced by the first successful assent of Mt. Everest's west ridge. His first real climb was up the side of a local volcano. This experience mad Jon in love with nature. He spent must of his early life climbing mountains. He began his writing career in 1974 while writing aricles for a magazine. He wrote his first book in 1990, which was a collection of 12 essays about mountaineering.  Krakauer best book is Into the Wild in 1992 (Microsoft Encarta).
